Frequently Asked Questions

PickUp Patrol is an automated dismissal system that has been helping schools manage dismissal safely for more than 13 years. Parents submit plan changes through a free web app instead of calling the office or sending in notes, and those changes flow directly to the people who need them.

Here is what that looks like day-to-day:

• Parents submit changes from a phone, tablet, or computer, any time and from anywhere.

• The office sees attendance and end-of-day plans for every student in one dashboard.

• Teachers receive a daily email with their students' end-of-day plans.

• Dismissal itself runs on up-to-date lists for the car line, buses, aftercare, and activities, with ZipLane™, our student dispatcher, handling car line calls.

Yes! PickUp Patrol is built to be customized to your building, and plenty of middle and high schools use it to track early dismissals, late arrivals, absences, and changes.

Daycares, aftercare programs, and camps use it too! If your dismissal looks different from a typical elementary school, tell us how it works, and we will show you how PickUp Patrol can be configured around it.

As former teachers, we know how tight school budgets are, and we price PickUp Patrol to stay within reach. Your cost is based on enrollment and billed annually.

Inquire here for a quote, and we will let you know about any discounts that apply. Your first year can be prorated after your trial period, and the web app is always free for parents.

Everything you need to run dismissal, with no add-on tiers:

• The full online dashboard, with complete oversight of student plans

• The free parent app, accessible by phone, tablet, or computer

• ZipLane™, our student dispatcher and car line dismissal tool

• The built-in setup checklist and Onboarding Center

• Customer support for your staff and your parents at support@pickuppatrol.net

Most schools do not need to purchase additional equipment. Office staff use PickUp Patrol from the computers they already have, and teachers can use a computer, tablet, or phone. If you use ZipLane, you will need at least two smartphones or tablets for outside use.

This is one of the situations it helps with most. When a snow day or early release hits, parents update their children's plans directly instead of flooding the office with calls, which keeps your phone lines open and every change accurately recorded on one of the most stressful days of the year.

Nope! Add as many as your transportation routes and after-school activities require.

You can print an absent teacher's daily dismissal list with one click and hand it to their substitute. Long-term subs can be set up so this happens automatically. There is also a temporary Substitute User account, which grants limited access to staff helping with car line dismissal.
